adventures

a couple weeks ago, spence packed up all our stuff and headed east to our new home in texas.
he moved everything and has unpacked us and got us all settled there.  he started his residency in temple texas, at the scott and white hospital.
us girls have stayed in utah so i could finish up working, and to visit with my brother who will be here from NY.  so we moved to elk ridge with my parents and have been having little adventures to fill up our days without our papa.
the girls love parks, they love ducks, and they love the swings.
cutest bums in  the whole world.
and last week we were lucky enough to meet up with annie and her kids at the farm.
the girls got licked by the baby cows YUCK!

florida, everglades

on our way home from the cruise we went to the florida everglades and did a boat tour.
i don't know if spence was trying to feed to wild animals all trip or what. but i felt like i was risking my life everyday.:)
the boat stopped for a minute and spence heard some rustling in the bushing and look what we found....an alligator, i thought spence would literally jump in the water to get a closer look, fortunately the driver of the boat made sure to mention not to get too close.

they did a little alligator show and education.  it was interesting, but still like to keep my distance.
and that was our 7day vacation in a nutshell. thanks again spence for planning such a wonderful trip!
if this whole podiatry/dr thing doesn't work out
i think working for a travel agency would be a good fit.

cruise-la-la #2

we had a fine dining night and got all dressed up, it was nice to feel like we were out on a special date together.  We haven't been on a vacation together since we found out we were having the twins almost 3years ago.  so we really spoiled ourselves and had as much fun each day as possible.

we went to the cayman islands, i was excited but nervous as well because we signed up to swim with the sting rays.  the ocean water in the cayman's is so clear and beautiful, its almost fake.
there is a small town in the caymans called 'hell' there are black dried coral reefs that look almost volcanic, and when the first explorors came they thought it looked like something from hell, so that is where the name came from.

they also have a huge turtle refuge, it was amazing to see these massive turtles swimming around.

this is me being brave and holding a baby turtle.
my favorite part of the trip was surprisingly swimmin with the sting rays.  we took a small boat with maybe 12other people and went 30min out in the middle of nowhere.  i thought it would be on a beach somewhere where i could read and spence could swim with all sorts of stuff.  little did i know that it was truly in the middle of nowhere, and they just anchored the boat on a sandbar and you could see all these dark shadows swimming around.  i was freaked out, but wanted to be brave and crazy for spencer. he was shocked to see me jump in.  i made friends with some brazilian grandmas and we held hands and screamed the whole time.  spence fed, chased, captured, held, and even kissed the sting rays.  i surprised myself by beingin the middle of the ocean and swimming with wild creatures.
i know spence had a great time too.  we haven't developed our underwater camera from that day , but i do have the pictures to proove it!
then we were of to jaimaca!  we went to the rainfort 'fern gully' and hiked the dunn falls.  this was really cool, you basically walked up a small water fall.

spence ate some local jaimacan grum, and i couldn't even think about touching it...chicken?? it reminded me of the food in africa, a little unknown.
we had a great vacation, and can't wait til spence finishes residency to do it all again.
thanks to my parents and spence's mom for watchin the twins so we could relax kid free.

cruise-la-la

i haven't had acces to the internet so i have a lot of updating to do,
so much has happened and changed.
like...the best vacation in history...we both have been waiting for 4yrs for this, spence has promised me since the first day of med school that once he graduated he would take me on a cruise.
we laugh now because i have been working since we moved back to utah so really i took him on a cruise.

the flight to miami from phoenix...i hate flying, i get sick and ocd about people touching me. luckily this time i was flying with a dr so he gave me some meds to keep me relaxed
(don't worry they are all otc)
spence is the best trip planner, he got us a great hotel right on the beach in miami as we had a night stay waiting to get on the cruise ship.  this was spence's first time touching the atlantic ocean!!
we even cruised A1A beach front avenue
then it was on to the cruise.  i want to document this trip well as it will be the last vacation we get for another 3-4yrs. spence and i couldn't get over how BIG the ship was, 11floors, you name it the ship had it, from a water slid, to mini-golf, to bball court, to big screen out door theatre, in house theatre, it was pretty amazing.
we hit up key west in fashionable style....we rented bikes for the day and cruised around. spence and i made a point to bike around the entire island. it was hot and muggy but we had a blast cruising around town on bikes.
ernest hemingway is one of my favorite author's, so excited to stop here, my favorite book is old man and the sea that he wrote in key west.
(i have been to two of his other homes so this completes the list)
beautiful beaches and beautiful clear water. spence jumped right in and i got my ankles wet.....i'm more than scared of the ocean, i'm horrified of it.

tropical oasis! so gorgeous

and if you have talked with anyone that has been on a cruise all they talk about is the.....food.
so hear is spence tasting a few things from the buffet.  it was really gross how much food was there, and how we all ate non-stop, but it was also nice to go on excursions all day and then come back and food ready to go.  i loved the 24hr soft serve ice cream! spence loved 24hr soda service.
of course we layed out and got some sun (i was covered head to toe in sunblock but its still fun to lay in the sun) spence read the whole trilogy of hunger games in 5days while on our trip.  i lost my book somehow on the trip and wasn't able to finish....i'm still wondering who was lucky enough to walk off with my book 'born to run'....it will be a cruise mystery.
played a BIG game of chess, and went to many shows in the theatre room. this place was huge 3 stories and great sound system.  we loved the comedy shows, and the 80's throw back night.
it was so surprising how many activities they had on the ship 24hrs a day.

graduation part 2

 Graduation cap and gown!
spencer's graduation was short and sweet and i think we were both in shock that it was all really happening!  i loved the bag pipes that played as they exited, so cool.
most of the pod gang and wives.  we sure have been on a wild adventure together the past 4years!
we wives are just as much graduates as the boys...if not more!
now we are all going our separate ways for residency, and yes i cried because this group of friends are amazing.
jamie will be in detroit, alyssa is in dallas, amber is in portland, annie is in salt lake, franki is in seatle, we'll be in temple texas, and the list goes on.

congradulations graduation hot bod!!!
