20wks and some news

ok so this is a little late but we are having girls!!!! yes finally baby B moved off of baby A enough so we could see some special body parts to determine boy or girl.
We are exstatic!! but to be honest we could careless boy or girl, we just really want some healthy little ones.(so please don't ask me if we are going to keep trying for boys cause i'll just cry)
So far the babies are doing good. Growin and I can feel them rolling around and kicking each other to find more room. A lot of people have asked so here is the 411 of my bedrest.(i wouldn't normally blog about this but everyone keeps asking, and i have literally fallin of the face of the earth and this is why:) I've been on real limited activity since about 9wks:( but last week we had some complications and went to see the doctor. I have been having pre-term contractions which is really bad since we are only 20wks. the dr gave us some wonderful medicine that helps stop the contractions.
He then put me on strict bedrest which means only bathrooms trips.(we are doing good spence has been taking wonderful care of me, cause i know most of you are going to ask how to help, and for sure when the time comes i'll be calling in favors:)
We have been really blessed and we are so thankful to our Heavenly Father for watching over these little babies and keeping them safe.
yes, its been hard especially emotionally but we are in good hands
and have faith that all will be well.
Being pregnant is so fun, laying in bed for 9months isnt really what i imagined my pregnancy to be like, but you do what you have to do.
last week i was suppose to fly to utah for christmas and my wonderful sisters were hosting a baby shower for me. unfortunately i couldn't be there, so they just skyped me in. seriously who invites people to a party and then doesn't even show up?...it was fun to see everyone and i just watched everything through the computer.:)
so thanks everyone for coming, thanks sis' for putting on another
spectacular party(pic to follow next post)
hope everyone has a happy holiday! and we'll keep ya posted on these 2 little ones.
lots of love, and thanks again to everyone>>>you know who you are... who have visited and gave us meals,
spence really enjoys your cooking more than mine anyway!!

THE GRINCH has moved in, or taken over. But don't worry, he won't be stealing anyone's Christmas round these parts.

29yrs and then some!

I am only posting this belly picture for my sisters (serioulsy this time there is no pillow, that's just me and the babies)...right about now Amanda has just screamed so loud the neighbors are wondering whats going on:) yup i definitely got a prego belly,
and without getting too emotional it really is the
best birthday present i've ever had! Each morning i serioulsy wake up and pinch myself because i just don't think its really happening...what a dream come true!!
here is our fabulous tree...yes its been handed down to all the all the newly weds in the fam but it still looks good and brings the spirit of christmas to our home.

last night on short notice we had some friends over for rootbeer floats just to celebrate me
truly being the oldest person in the room of about 12 people :)
we didn't take any pictures...not a single one, but we had a blast and i am so grateful to have met so many wonderful people here in AZ.
so thanks for your friendship and love, and for coming over last night even though i didn't capture a single moment of our fun on camera.

and yes Kai has aged too, she doesn't seem to be coping very well with the whole idea of getting older, so she is strutin her angry eyes:)

and last but not least, i did capture a pic of all these wonderful women and count em 11kids! they all surprised me on my birthday and brought pink cupcakes with sprinkles
and everything.
There is nothing better than good friends and good fun on your birthday!

a quick shout out to spence: thanks for a great birthday! you are the greatest hubby in the world and surprise me more and more each day with how amazing you are.

Great News

Some of you out there may have already heard a portion of our recent good news, but now we're really ready to spill the beans.

Carly and I are please to announce that we are anxiously awaiting a delivery from Mother Stork. And to make this a memorable start to the beginning of our family, we are lucky enough to begin with twins. Yes, that is correct twins, aka two babies, two buns in the oven, double trouble, two for one, and our favorite octomom minus six.

Carly and I feel immensely blessed to have this opportunity and can't wait for their arrival. It was a huge and unexpected shock at the 1st ultrasound which took place at six weeks. Right now they're 16 weeks along and already full of Spencer's charm and charisma. It appears that we have some pretty active children in development. At our last ultrasound appt both babies were actively kicking Carly's bladder (which explains her frequent desire to pee) and it seemed like a there was a boxing match going on in her uterus. So far, Baby B is the reigning champ.

Up to this point, unfortunately the pregnancy hasn't been very easy- Carly's been put on bedrest and limited activity. But, even with these challenges we have been handling it well- thanks to the prayers of friends and family, of which we are extremely grateful for.

We can't wait for their arrival which should be in early May. Kai is currently in kitty training, learning how to fetch diapers, make bottles, and purr lullabies. We'll keep you posted on their progress.

what do you see?

in our jungle of a back yard what can you find in this picture??

any good guesses?

how about a lion waiting to attack!
Kai loves our little jungle and she pretty much stays outside all day. its hilarious to see her run through it...just like a dear trail you can see little kitty trails in our back yard.
couldn't help but post it..kinda lame and silly but i did it for spence....he really loves this cat.:)

somebody had...

A birthday!!

thats right please note the beautiful cake, hand made by yours truly!!

(and ps this was taken really early in the am, after long hours of studyin' hince the rockin hair)

i had been buggin' spence for weeks on what he wanted for his birthday and he couldn't think of a darn thing, in his words he said, "can i just not cash in on my birthdaynow and save it for when something i really want come up" i said no way use it or lose it babe! he he:)

but a couples weeks ago he had been looking for a tail hitch for our car and really wanted a BYU cover. Its kinda funny and it was more expensive to actually ship it than to buy it (i probably shouldn't mention that but oh well)

here she is, nice huh. so lets all take a bet and see how long it will take before the hitch gets stolen or ruined...:) spence was so excited he ran right outside and hooked it on!

Happy Birthday Babe!

later we went to a steak house and had some good grub, i forgot the camera of course:)

and then JJ and Annie came over with the best birthday gift ever, hate to say it but it totally surpassed my gift. thanks guys:)

halloween!!

Our friends planned this amazing Halloween party, it was super fun and everyone really got into it, costumes and all. As most of you know Spence has a thing with halloween...skin always wins!
and he did take first place in the costume contest!
And since no money finding a costume thats free is hard to find. So spence remembered this funny costume...
1987 world jump ropping champion! And i'm his coach stop watch, whistle and all! and let me tell ya that boy can jump!

Of course Alyssa & Michael stole the show with "king kong"
And surprisingly the little ones weren't too scared of the big gorilla in the room!

Robin and Lincoln the cowboy!

James & Jaime rockin it 80's style! they both looked really good!
I missed taking picturs of a lot of people but we also had; batman, catwomen, the scarecrow, cowboys and cowgirls, a viking and witches and harry potters friend, and more! it was a blast!
i love halloween!

BoWLiNg!

a couple weeks ago we headed over
to Scottsdale to hang with Ty and Ash
and we went bowling with this
little cutie pie Grace.
she was so fun to watch running around!
she was a pretty good bowler
but she thought the machine that
returns all the balls was the
coolest thing in the world! she was so
excited everytime a ball would come back.
thanks Ty and Ash we had a blast.

wet saturday

Last saturday morning its was cloudy and a storm seemed to be rolling in so i told spence we should go for a quick walk so we could see all the cool lightning and hear the thunder! it was a great plan and we saw tons of lightning strike all around the hot arizona sky...at one point it seemed that we were going to get struck by lightning and with our luck we would be the random people that get hit, so we headed home.
just as we turned around it started to down poor! i mean big fat heavy drops of rain. by the time we made it home we were drenched! and we had left the kitty out in the back yard and she was meowing like crazy. spence said it was about time she got a bath but kai was really mad and pouted the rest of the day under the bed.
needless to say it was really fun walking and dancing in the rain, the rainstorms here are amazing!...and its a nice and well needed break from the endless heat!

havasupai!!

After the MAN project was finished, spence and i headed up north to the south rim of the Grand Canyon to hike to havasupai falls. I had been there before with my bff/sister Amanda several years ago(she got heat stroke and i thought i had killed her but thats another story)
---anyways spence has always wanted to go so, for his break we went back packing and it was awesome!
We left late on Wednesday night and camped at the trail head, sleeping in the X and anxiously awaiting our long 12mile hike to the falls.
I had warned spence about the self guiding mules that run at full speed through the canyon...and at one point spence said i hear thunder...and it was just the mules running to the top of the canyon to pick up some goods. It is so crazy to see these animals cruising through the canyon & rocky terrain, they seriously only know one speed and its FAST! (you can also ride horses in for $50 one way per person, just in case)

This is Mooney Falls hike! its a 200ft water fall about 2miles from Havasupai! it is absolutely beautiful. Spence guided me down the side of the mtn. you seriously have to hold onto chains and slither down the cliff side to get to the falls pool below. it was a really a crazy hike...oh course i got a little shakey but was so glad that we did the wild hike because
it was so beautiful.

Us, with Mooney falls in the back ground

spence taking a shower in one of the secret water falls we found exploring. we had a great trip...all for the dingos it was awesome!
sorry manda this time it was a little bit cooler...and we packed more than just cliff bars so it made the trip more enjoyable...however on the 10th switch back of like 400 to the top of the canyon i did think of you and how sick you were, that scarey hotel we stayed in, the tire blowing out, and how when i pulled the truck over for you to throw up you stepped on a cactus...man that was a bad trip. but spence and i dedicate this successful trip to havasupai to you! love ya roo!

Havasupai continued...

spence of course basking in the good ole arizona sun
hikin back...nothing better than 12miles uphill:)

capturing the worst thing about Havasupai, the flying in of bathrooms...yup thats right, everything has to either be carried in or flown in and that includes bathrooms...they fly in all the port-a-potties and when they have all but been over filled they fly 'em out.
Yes there is a lot of sloshing....yuck!

If you go to Havasu be warned of the wild dingos...there are tons of stray dogs from the village and they ripped through spencer's pack (which was about 4ft off the ground hung on a tree) and ate all our granola bars and snacks...

And again here is why the 5hr drive, 12mile 4hr hike is all worth it
an oasis in the desert!

Man Project 1: The part that will never be finished

We have everything done with the project except for those little jobs that I will never get to and will most likely never get finished- for example, touch-ups, little splatters of plaster on the walls, windows and carpets that we will continue to find for months, dust that no matter how many times you sweep and map will remain stuck/ground into the tile, and then there's the whole bedroom saga- it didn't come out as well as we hoped it would. oh well, another quarter of school has begun and time for things like this are no more. Maybe I can get to it during the Thanksgiving break. Overvall we are happy with the results and completely worth the five days of hell. Until the next manpost.

Man Project 1 Update

Three days into Man Project 1 and we can finally see a blurry finish line a ways away on the horizon. We primed the ceilings yesterday and the only good thing about priming is that it's cheaper than a finishing paint.

Man Project 1- Part A

This is Spencer and I am man-blogging; not about silly or trivial things, favorite colors, or cute fabrics. This is a man-post about doing some dirty work, work so hard that it made Carly's cat sweat. Since Carly and I purchase our townhome I've wanted to take down the super-sweet popcorn ceilings that were oh so popular in the 70's- lucky for us ours is aspestice free. There's goes an enjoyable break between quarters. So far we're 2 days deep into Man Project 1 (as I call it) and the end isn't in sight yet. Our house is a complete mess. We could easily make a nice beach with all the dust on the ground, there's papers and plastic lining the walls, half our light fixtures are covered in trash bags, and we only have one functional room left- the second bedroom, and it smells like a Motel. It's a disaster. Sad to say, removing the popcorn texture has been the easiest part so far- thanks Tyler. Prepping the ceiling was the most aggravating six hours while on a six-foot ladder in my life and I don't even want to start on my spraying on of the texture. All that's left is a lot- lay down the primer, paint it, then start the never-ending clean up, and then move everything back to their original positions. I'm really starting to hope all the pain will be worth it. And if you leave a comment, don't say anything involving cute- this is a Man-post. the pictures don't do any justice. More to come with Part B..........

TONTO bridge

We had a super fun weekend, both of us can't wait for the day to come (after medschool & residency) when we can go camping every weekend!
On our way home we stopped by the "toilet bowl" as locals call it, (we found it as spence was flipping through our OUTDOOR magazine of places you must go.) so we went for another adventure to the toilet bowl a really quick hike to a small river that has pools of water for cliff jumping, and a natural slide! it was super cool.
thanks spence for letting me steal you away from the books
and all the glitter and glame of medschool to have a small, & super cheap vacation...cause thats what we do best!

a weekend away!

a couple weeks ago, i planned a quick weekend getaway for spence and i. we went up to Payson, AZ (Not payson UT) and camped. we both had been dying to try out our new ride. so we went to the worlds largest natural bridge,
Tonto State Park
it was a interesting boulder hopping hike into the cave, but it was well worth it!

i took this picture and instantly thought....car add! spence is having breakfast while our sweet new car sits in the back with a gorgeous background.

we are so cheap that we didn't have money to pay to camp in a "REAL" camp ground. so spence through the X into 4wheel and created a nice little campsite for us. I ended up getting super scared because spence kept saying..."whats that!" when ever there was a creapy noice...so after about 2hrs in the tent i eloquently said, "i'm sleeping in the X"
spence decided to join me...hince his really sleepy face! it was so fun we ended up staying up all night and chatting and telling funny stories!

unseen pictures: missed the kodak moment

Ok so let me start with the fact that i am horrible about taking pictures, i forget my camera or i just don't stop from all the fun to capture the moment to share...No excuses right...
Last weekend I flew into town to visit my family...ya know it had been about 9wks since the last time i saw them so i succored spence into letting me fly home for a couple days.
I had a wonderful time, it so fun to visit family and friends...and not be at work might i add. but it is always hard to leave my hubby at home to fend for himself and try to keep the cat from running terror through the house.
So here are some things that I did while in Utah, that i forgot to take pictures of, sorry to those of you i saw but forgot to take that kodak moment with...
1. Spending all day on thursday at the dentist, Dr. Rick Leishman is great but seriously I had three appointment with him in one day! but spence is glad he saved us some money and my teeth really aren't all falling out/or falling apart like the AZ dentist said they are.
2. My sweet grandma and all us girls shopping shopping shopping...jo and i not buying cause are hubbies have us on a specific no, absolutely no spending money budget.
3. The twins, no pics, the browns no pics, the denneys no pics, heather no pics, my own mom, no pics, my own dad who it wouldn't hurt to take a couple extra pictures of the man since he has been/is so sick no pics, my cute sisters no pics, my bro who i'm going to send in for lance armstrong look alike no pics....the list goes on.
4. Working at my old job and loving every single minute of it, having patients thank me for helping them, actually being able to help them, making money to spend while on the trip. Jo has some of the greatest girls working there now, i told em that i might send a hit man out so i can steal one of their jobs, jk laci and ashley...but seriously it wouldn't hurt to watch your back:)
5. Ran into my mother-in-law on a whim no pics sorry debbie.
6. Jo's dog COCO i'm pretty sure he weighs more than her now...he is no longer a puppy.
7. Going to spin class with my awesome sister and dad....it would have been so cool to snap a picture of us all on the bikes sweatin it out!
8. Me on my death bed on tues/wed, i got so sick out of nowhere, Jo helped change my flight so i could stay one more day on the bathroom floor of my moms house since i had been quarantined from all the kiddlets. i mean serioulsy if you're going to stay another day at least have some fun...no i layed in bed til it was time to fly home. but i missed an extra day of work so that was nice.:)
9. my sad face when i realize that spence isn't coming, i missed him and the kids wanna know where the crap he is and why he can never leave phoenix for some fun...baby beccs tells them all he is learning a lot! and thats why. i missed you spence and so did everyone else.
10. Reese and I sleeping...me getting hit in the head every once in awhile from a random leg or arm....and me laying in my moms compfy bed while she tickles my legs...she is the best tickler!
Ok ok so i missed a lot of fun moments, but I had a wonderful time, and i wanted to thank everyone for taking time off work and adjusting their schedules to see me while i was in town.
Jo and Roo thanks for re-energizing me and making me laugh so hard at all the silly things in life.
thanks spencer for being the best husband in the whole world and letting me sneak home now and again to make sure Utah is still the same, and that all my favorite little people still know who i am, and especially for loving me enough to be willing to be alone for a week while i go play and have fun. love ya babe and thanks everyone!
A walk after dinner is a must! see how the twins can share a seat while taylor needs the whole seat for herself cause there ain't now wiggle room for her in the wagon.
A train of wagons just like the pioneers:)
Paps and baby beccs! its hard to tell who is cuter in this picture!
baby beccs loves her pap so so so much! if he isn't in her sight she yells at the top of her lungs PAPS until he quickly replies

Cy showing of some skill, he can throw the ball and then swing and hit it, he plays all day everyday until the sun goes down and yes he even sleeps with a ball, we skyped spence and Cy had to show off his golf balls and club and made spencer promise to play golf with him.

One of my littlest BFFs! Reese is so cute, she is my best girl and she knows it! She calls me all the time in Phoenix to chat and wishes that spence would get done with school already so i can move back and sleep in her purple bed with her! this trip i said to Reese while we were driving to the zoo, "Reese you know you are my best girl!" she said, "I know, i wish we could get married but we'll just have to be best friends instead" I thought that was super cute, she always makes me feel super loved and adored!
