my parents came into last week and we headed down to San Antonio to visit some new places and have some warm weather. We were able to visit a lot of places, but the cold weather followed my parents and central texas had the coldest week in history while they visited.
even though it was rainy and cold we headed to the zoo, and to our surprise we were able to get in free!! the san antonio spurs had won the night before and after every winning game the first 100 people get in free...i think we were the only visitors that day due to the cold.
if you look close you can see this is a 2 headed turtle...pretty crazy.
pappy had a great time showing the girls all the wild animals and didn't hesitate to get in on all the fun!
we were able to visit the butterfly exhibit (again for free, lucky us) and the girls loved getting up close and seeing all the butterflies.
we had a great time at the zoo, and even though it was super cold we still saw a lot of animals.
my favorite were the huge hippos, and the cheetah's that had electrical fences on the top of the fence and the tree because they like to escape at night.
