sunday thoughts

We had a great sunday yesterday, besides skyping with pappy and spence having the whole day off spence and i both really enjoyed church as well.   a talk was giving in comparison to the London Olympics that are going on right now. (unfortunately we haven't seen any of the games because we don't have tv, but we will see them in 4years when its the Olympics again) but instead of a physical olympics, a spiritiual olympics.  and whether we are striving for a gold medal or just to qualify for the trials.  it gave spence and i a great perspective change and the realization that we really need to be doing better.  do better with so much that i could bore you with all the details, but the important thing is, is that we are going to strive with all our might for a gold medal and hope everyone else does as well.

there have been a lot of changes, highs and lows, with our family and close friends.  often times family members and friends struggle because of someone else free agency.  i wish i could do more for them, and i pray and hope that they will continue to remain strong despite life's unforeseen obstacles.  i am grateful for the knowledge and love of my Savior.  when days are long and nights are short, i find great comfort in my Savior.  i find relief and solace in my Savior.  i hope that those out there that are struggling will also be able to seek refuge in the Savior.  Jeffrey R. Holland has said it best.

"If you are lonely,

please know you can find comfort.

 If you are discouraged,

please know you can find hope.

If you are poor in spirit,

please know you can be strengthened

If you feel you are broken,

please know you can be mended.”

same, same

these two can't get enough of each other.  since we have moved away from friends and family i am so so glad that these two at least have each other.  they are always asking for sister, or talking sweet, or wrestling and chasing each other.  twins really are special, especially these two!
if there is no room then just take turns!!
ps notice the big girl panties...we are potty training right and left around here. its going pretty good quince has been out of diapers for a week and tenley, is typical tenley, and will only go in the big potty when its her idea.  but i'm really glad that it is going well, and it was nice to do one child at a time for the first time in my mothering experience. (so excited to save that extra cash from diapers)
also this is for those close friends of mine...you know who you are
(steph, jaime, heather, kelly, jo)
if you know me, you know i eat a lot, but i eat a lot of the same stuff, oreo's (double stuffed) and cottage cheese dip. (i know a typical health nut)  well i am happy to announce that the tradition lives on with these gals too.
they can't get enough of the DIP.

trying to get every last bit!  such good stuff! the girls really eat anything that i eat, so spence is really out numbered at our house.  what can i say, girls rule!

when daddy is home

lately, spence is hard to find...unless you are at the hospital. he has been working early morning and late nights and weekends.  however, when he happens to get home before bedtime there is a lot of....wrestling, tickling, and more wrestling...perfect for getting the girls calm and ready for bed.

and when he is home on a saturday (the one saturday so far)
he takes us places like belton lake!

and golden corral.  unfortunately the golden corral in killeen is a huge thumbs down.
we had such fun times with pappy eatin all you can eat in utah, but here its not good at all so save your money.
the girls had a good time watching all the people come and go.
there is nothing like time with daddy. he makes everything better, funner, happier, easier, and all round fantastic!

a week...or so

skype....has to be the best invention of the 21st century.  this is how we stay in touch with family, the girls have really gotten into skype and enjoy watching all the grandparents on 'tv.'
there are several splash pads here in texas and a couple weeks ago i took the girls to the ward party at a really fun splash pad.  i was nervous to go alone, (spence was on call and still at the hospital) but our ward is really amazing here.  in fact there were several wives there without husbands because they were also stuck at the hospital.

i took the girls to petco, not the wild you can touch all the animals pet store jo took us to, but the girls loved it.  i love this picture of tenley, this is her signing bug.

how can the fun go on???

well now everyone has gone home, back to utah and back to south carolina.  now the twins have to help each other out! i love this picture, the girls are really pretty good about helping each other and playing for the most part, you have to remember they are still only 2 so we have our days where it seems the only words i hear are, "mine!" "no!" "stop"
reese and Q are so cute!  Q really misses her real mom jojo.  at church and anywhere we went Q demanded to be with jo at all times.  its nice to have them love their aunts as much as i do.
these looks say it all.  don't wanna go home!
we have been in texas for 3wks now, 2 of which my mom and sisters were here. but i think we are adjusting ok.  i have a very patient husband, and a wonderful family that calls and checks on me everyday.  its also really nice to be surrounded by a lot of resident wives, so once again we wives can help each other out when our hubby's are living at the hospital.  our ward here in temple has also been so great, i keep hoping to find another cyndi grounds and lauri martin (amazing women in our old AZ ward that helped me out as a crazy new mom) to sit by so i don't have to sit alone on sundays and a baby sitter.  but i think i'll figure all that out soon.

a little shout out to my amazing strong sis amanda.  she did her first triathlon in south carolina this weekend and killed it.  she finished 2min faster than her goal and beat my swim time by 3min!! she is quite the competitor! and she did it all by herself, her hubby had to work and she had to have a babysitter come over at 6am to watch her girls so she could drive herself to the race.
she has always inspired me to be better!
